Abstract:
This paper describes JERIM-320, a new 320-bit hash function used for ensuring message integrity
and details a comparison with popular hash functions of similar design. JERIM-320 and FORK -256
operate on four parallel lines of message processing while RIPEMD-320 operates on two parallel
lines. Popular hash functions like MD5 and SHA-1 use serial successive iteration for designing
compression functions and hence are less secure. The parallel branches help JERIM-320 to achieve
higher level of security using multiple iterations and processing on the message blocks. The focus of
this work is to prove the ability of JERIM 320 in ensuring the integrity of messages to a higher
degree to suit the fast growing internet applications

In a leading service economy like India, services lie at
the very center of economic activity. Competitive organizations
now look not only at the skills and knowledge, but also at the
behavior required by an employee to be successful on the job.
Emotionally competent employees can effectively deal with
occupational stress and maintain psychological well-being. This
study explores the scope of the first two formants and jitter to
assess seven common emotional states present in the natural
speech in English. The k-means method was used to classify
emotional speech as neutral, happy, surprised, angry, disgusted
and sad. The accuracy of classification obtained using raw jitter
was more than 65 percent for happy and sad but less accurate for
the others. The overall classification accuracy was 72% in the
case of preprocessed jitter. The experimental study was done on
1664 English utterances of 6 females. This is a simple, interesting
and more proactive method for employees from varied
backgrounds to become aware of their own communication styles
as well as that of their colleagues' and customers and is therefore
socially beneficial. It is a cheap method also as it requires only a
computer. Since knowledge of sophisticated software or signal
processing is not necessary, it is easy to analyze

A comprehensive outline is given along with definition, scope, classification, development and sources of information.Method of study used in this research and its literature review form the content of this chapter. Chapter 4 Details of the method adopted for collecting samples for the study, data collection and organization of the data are given. The methods are based on availability of data, period and objectives of the research undertaken.The description, analyses and the results of the study are covered in this chapter.

Abstract:
The focus of study in this thesis is on the necessity and extent of judicial creativity in interpreting provisions in certain crucial areas in the Constitution of India. Judicial innovation was essential to adapt the constitutional provisions to modern changed context. Creativity of the Court has been mainly in the creation and introduction of certain new concepts not found in any specific provision of the Constitution which, but were essential for its meaningful interpretation.Independence of the judiciary, basic structure and certain elements of social justice cherished as ideal by the makers of the Constitution are some such concepts infused into the Constitution by the judiciary. The second aspect of creativity lies in the attempt of the Court to construe provisions in the Constitution with a view to upholding and maintaining the concepts so infused into the Constitution. Introduction of those concepts into the Constitution was necessary and is justified. all important features of the Constitution like democratic form of government, federal structure, judicial review, independence of judiciary and rule of law were thus included in the doctrine to prevent their alteration by amendments.As a result of such a construction, the nature of those directive principles itself has changed. They ceased to be mere directives for state action but became mandate for it. If left to legislative or executive will for their implementation, the directives would have remained enforceable as ordinary right.To conclude, notwithstanding the errors committed by the Supreme Court in construing the provisions in the above areas, they stand testimony to its creative and innovative response in interpreting the Constitution. If this trend is continued, it will be possible to achieve through the judicial process, maintenance of independence of the judiciary, avoidance of destruction of the Constitution through the process of amendment and realisation of social justice envisaged in the directive principles. It can be hoped that the Court would maintain its energetic and vibrant mind and rise up to the occasions and extend the same to other areas in future.

Abstract:
This thesis entitled “Judicial review of academic decisions.Education in India is being increasingly controlled and guided by the courts.This study makes an attempt to assess the involvement of the court in regulating education and its role or interference in the conventional concepts of ‘academic freedom’ and ‘university autonomy.The study mostly concentrates on the jurisdiction under Article 226 of the Constitution and its invocation in academic matters with particular reference to the decisions of the Kerala High Court.The concept of judicial review in the Constituent Assembly, initial approach of the Supreme Court of India towards the doctrine, gradual empowerment of Indian judiciary in this area and the resultant judicial activism.The study proceeds through the analysis of ‘academic freedom’ and ‘university autonomy’ in the 4"‘ chapter. This chapter attempts to probe academic freedom and university autonomy in India,England and United States and autonomy of Indian universities before and after independence.Basic principles and the jurisdictional parameters of
judicial review in the area of academic decisions, as pronounced by the Apex Court, can be convincingly and consistently followed by the High Courts, which is possible only if special Academic Benches are constituted.

Abstract:
Cooperative caching in mobile ad hoc networks
aims at improving the efficiency of information access by
reducing access latency and bandwidth usage. Cache replacement
policy plays a vital role in improving the performance of a cache
in a mobile node since it has limited memory. In this paper we
propose a new key based cache replacement policy called E-LRU
for cooperative caching in ad hoc networks. The proposed
scheme for replacement considers the time interval between the
recent references, size and consistency as key factors for
replacement. Simulation study shows that the proposed
replacement policy can significantly improve the cache
performance in terms of cache hit ratio and query delay

Abstract:
The role of thyroid hormones in DNA synthesis and in the activity of Thymidille
kinase (TK), a key regulatory enzyme of DNA synthesis was studied in proliferating
hepatocytes in vivo. Liver regeneration after partial hepatectomy was used as a
model for controlled cell division in rats having different thyroid status - euthyroid,
hypothyroid and 3,3',5'-triiodo-L-thyronine (T))-heated hypothyroid. Partial
hepatectomy caused a significant elevation of DNA synthesis (p<0.01) in all the three
groups compared to their sham-operated counterparts. Hypothyroid liepatectomised
animals showed significantly lower (p<0.01) level of DNA synthesis than euthyroid
hepatectomised animals. A single subcutaneous close of 1'3 to hypothyroid shamoperated
animals resulted in a significant increase (p<0.01) of DNA synthesis in the
intact liver. 17tis was comparable to the level of DNA synthesis occurring in
regenerating liver of euthyroid animals. In hypothyroid hepatectomised animals, "1'3
showed an additive effect on l)NA synthesis and this group exhibited maximum level
of DNA synthesis (p<0.0I ). Studies of the kinetic parameters of TK show that the
Michelis-Menten constant, (K111) of TK for thymidine was altered by the thyroid
status. K11 increased significantly (p<0.01) in untreated hypothyroid animals when
compared to the euthyroid rats. '13 treatment of hypothyroid animals reversed this
effect and this group showed the lowest value for K111 (p<0.01). Thus our results
indicate that thyroid hormones can influence DNA synthesis during liver regeneration
and they may regulate the activity of enzymes such as 17rymidine kinase which are
important for DNA synthesis and hence cell division.

Abstract:
Urea-formaldehyde resins find numerous
applications in adhesive, textile finishing and moulded
plastic industries. Kinetic investigations of the reactions of
urea and its related compounds with formaldehyde in
aqueous acid, alkaline and neutral media have been carried
out. A thin—layer chromatographic method was developed
for the separation and estimation of the products of these
reactions. Using this technique the various initial steps
in the reactions were analysed and the rate constants have been determined.
