Abstract:
The major objective of the researcher was to assess the gains or losses in relationship between spouses after sterilization of the wife. The second objective was to gauge the impact of sterilisation upon parent—child relationships. Factors that were responsible in motivating women to accept sterilization were subjected to enquiry with the conviction that the information would give insight into the inadequacies of the official Family Planning Programme, offering prospects for feasible and salutary changes. The report is arranged under six chapters. The first chapter, Introduction, has three parts. The global and natural dimension of the problem of population is considered in Part I; The Importance of the topic studied namely sterilisation is discussed in the second Part: and Part III explains the background and methodology %f the study. The second chapter is a description of tubecto~ mized women who were the respondents. Their personal and family data, economic, social, educational and demographic profilesform its contents. The direct and indirect influences that were-responsible to make women decide in favour of sterilization are dealt with in the Third chapter. The Fourth Chapter is an analysis of the interspouse relations pre and post—operatively and an assessment of gains and losses in the area subsequent to sterilisation. How children have benefitted physically and emotionally as a consequence of improved care/attention from parents post~operatively constitutes the analysis attempted in the Fifth chapter.

Abstract:
The present thesis is an attempt by the researcher to Investigate the surface circulation of the Indian Ocean, north of 2095 in relation to the atmospheric circulation over the ocean. The aim is achieved by working out the circu1ation pattern and correlating it with the computed
wind stress and its vorticity. The month wise surface circulation is arrived by drawing the streamlines, using freshand method with superimposed isotache. The zonal ad meridional componance of the wind stress and the curl of the wind stress are computed for each month over 2° latitude longitude quadrangle from the bulk aerodynamic formula, using a computer program. The data for drawing the surface circu1ation and for computing the wind stress and its curl have come from the Dutch Atlas.

Abstract:
Public undertakings have been assigned a significant role to play in the systematic socio-economic development of India. My interest in the subject was kindled while I was doing my Masters Diploma in Public Administration at the Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi during 1960-61. It was further strengthened by my teaching of the subject in different courses offered by me at the School of Management Studies and in several programmes organised by various voluntary and training organisations like the Institute of Management in Government, Trivandrum, Centre for Management Development, Trivandrum, etc. The several years in which I served as a member of the faculty in the School of Management Studies, University of Cochin, gave me the opportunity to come into close contact with different public sector concerns and their managers at various levels. This rich opportunity gave me a better insight into the problems faced by these concerns. The present study is a result of the interest so developed.

Abstract:
The main aim of the present thesis is to dig deep into the once existed tenurial conditions and legislations that were passed to remedy the evils connected with the tenurial Conditions and to highlight ace of the economic impacts of the land reform legislation introduced since 1956.The thesis states that although the misery and exploitation which afflict the rural people and injustice inherent in the social structure can be removed by the strict implementation of land reforms. it is not the single and definite way or liberating the peasantry from its fate. Reform in not an Utopia: it is only the product of a constellation of political and social forces. ‘This study covers a period of twenty four years - ie...1956-1980.

Abstract:
This is a descriptive and analytical study. It investigates
how Fertilisers are marketed in India. It describes and evaluates the
system of fertiliser marketing prevalent in the country at the time
of this study (1979-82). The study, as the title will indicate, has
been conceived on a large canvass and in very broad and generalised
terms. Such a large framework has been chosen with the intention of
investigating the task of Fertiliser marketing in its totality

Abstract:
Rainbow sardines of the genus belonging
to the family Dueenaieriidae. are small pelagic fishes
forming a fairly good, though not abundant. seasonal fishery
all along the coasts of India inhabiting the coastal waters.
There have been some earlier reports on such individual
aspects as their systematic, distribution, abundance.
Ostecology and a few biological factors but no attempt has
been made towards a comprehensive study on this group. Two
species of rainbow sardines are known to occur in the Indian
seas and while a knowledge about their biology would be
useful from the fishery point of view. it was also thought
a study of their systematic position, especially regarding
the identity or the two species which had raised doubts
among earlier workers would lead to a better understanding
or the group as a whole. This thesis is mainly based on
studies during the period from April 1969 to march 1971 with
a continued investigation of fishhery aspects till December
1975. from the Gulf of manar: and the Palk Bay around
mandapam area. on the south-east coast of India. Thus the
work deals with the systemtics, biology and fishery of
rainbow sardines of Indian seas.

Abstract:
Due to the great versatility of the properties
of polymer thin films, special interest has been taken in
recent years on their preparation and electrical properties.
The present thesis is entirely devoted to the study of the
formation, structure and electrical properties of plasma»
polymerised polyacrylonitrile (PAN) thin films. Eventhough
the studies are confined to a single polymer film, the
results in general are applicable to similar polar polymer
films.

Abstract:
This thesis deals initially with a literature reference survey ,taxonomy, their incidence in selected food fishes and shellfishes, and their incidence and distribution, their survival during different types of processing, their heat survival at temperatures of 50 ,55 and 60 degree centigrade their growth initiation at different low levels of pHs(4.0 to 10) ,and their developmental resistance to various chemical agents. The trials for the study were collected from various landing centre at cochin and the retail outlets. Based on these data collections the researcher was able to obtain more knowledge of the processing technology and the survival of pathogens like salmonella and vibrio parahaemolyticus.
