Abstract:
The problem of regional disparities in economic
development is for India an inheritance from the colonial past.
At the beginning of the First Five Year Plan (1950-51), three
years after the advent of independence, the per capita State
income showed considerable inter—state variations.

Abstract:
This study proposes to verify the hypothesis relating to labour legislation in the industrial sector. Here there are as many as fifty enacments of the central government alone. These legislations indicating the growth of this branch of law over a period of more than half a centuary cover a wide spectrum of interests of workers both individuals and collective in different areas of employment. However this study relates mainly to a)trade unions act,b)industrial employment c)industrial disputes.

Abstract:
This thesis is an attempt to make a comparative study of the composition of the muscle proteins of some commercially important species of fishes and shell fishes of our coast and their changes during preservation and processing. As a part of this the distribution of the major protein nitrogen fractions in several species of fishes and shell fishes was studied in detail.

Abstract:
This is a study in labour law.. Dismissal of workmen in private lndustrial sector is the area of this study. Confined within the framework of the Industrial Disputes act 1947, the study is an analytical assessment of the decisions of the supreme Court of India. on dismissal in industrial
employment. Few attempts were made in the past to analyse on identical lines the problems in this area. Hence what is| written in this thesis is ones own. Dismissal carries a stigma. the dismissed employee may find it difficult to get alternative employment especially in a land of severe unemployment. The need for law with built in safeguards against arbitrary dismissal cannot be overemphasized. From this perspective the study examines to what extent the industrial disputes act 1947 provides protection and how far the protection is adequate.

Abstract:
There is a recent trend to describe physical
phenomena without the use of infinitesimals or infinites.
This has been accomplished replacing differential calculus
by the finite difference theory. Discrete function theory
was first introduced in l94l. This theory is concerned with
a study of functions defined on a discrete set of points in
the complex plane. The theory was extensively developed for
functions defined on a Gaussian lattice. In 1972 a very
suitable lattice H: {Ci qmxO,I qnyo), X0) 0, X3) 0,
O < q < l, m, n 5 Z} was found and discrete analytic function
theory was developed. Very recently some work has been done
in discrete monodiffric function theory for functions
defined on H.
The theory of pseudoanalytic functions is a
generalisation of the theory of analytic functions. When the
generator becomes the identity, ie., (l, i) the theory of
pseudoanalytic functions reduces to the theory of analytic
functions. Theugh the theory of pseudoanalytic functions
plays an important role in analysis, no discrete theory is
available in literature. This thesis is an attempt in that
direction. A discrete pseudoanalytic theory is derived for
functions defined on H.

Abstract:
In this thesis the preparation and properties of thin films of certain semiconducting sulphides (sulphides of tin, copper and indium) are reported. As single source evaporation does not yield satisfactory films of these compounds for a variety of reasons, reactive evaporation of the metal in a sulphur atmosphere has been used for film preparation. It was found that for each metal sulphide a stoichimetric interval of fluxes and substrate temperature exists for the formation of the compound in accordance with the analysis of Guenther. The first chapter of the thesis gives a resume of the basic principles of semiconductor physics relevant to the work reported here. In the second chapter is discussed in detail the reactive evaporation techniques like ordinary reactive evaporation, activated reactive evaporation and reactive ion plating. Third chapter deals with the experimental techniques used in this study for film preparation and characterization. In the next seven chapters is discussed the preparation and properties of the compound films studied. The last chapter gives a general theory of the formation of compound films in various deposition techniques in terms of the kinetic energy of the film forming particles. It must be mentioned here that this is of fundamental importance to thin film deposition and is virtually untouched in the literature
