Abstract:
Raman and FTIR spectra of [Cu(H2O)6](BrO3)2 and [Al(H2O)6](BrO3)3 · 3H2O are recorded and analyzed. The
observed bands are assigned on the basis of BrO3
− and H2O vibrations. Additional bands obtained in the region of
3 and 1 modes in [Cu(H2O)6](BrO3)2 are due to the lifting of degeneracy of 3 modes, since the BrO3
− ion occupies
a site of lower symmetry. The appearance 1 mode of BrO3
− anion at a lower wavenumber (771 cm−1) is attributed
to the attachment of hydrogen to the BrO3
− anion. The presence of three inequivalent bromate groups in the
[Al(H2O)6](BrO3)3 · 3H2O structure is confirmed. The lifting of degeneracy of 4 mode indicates that the symmetry of
BrO3
− anion is lowered in the above crystal from C3v to C1. The appearance of additional bands in the stretching and
bonding mode regions of water indicates the presence of hydrogen bonds of different strengths in both the crystals.
Temperature dependent Raman spectra of single crystal [Cu(H2O)6](BrO3)2 are recorded in the range 77–523 K for
various temperatures. A small structural rearrangement takes place in BrO3
− ion in the crystal at 391 K. Hydrogen
bounds in the crystal are rearranging themselves leading to the loss of one water molecule at 485 K. This is preceded
by the reorientation of BrO3
− ions causing a phase transition at 447 K. Changes in intensities and wavenumbers of
the bands and the narrowing down of the bands at 77 K are attributed to the settling down of protons into ordered
positions in the crystal

Abstract:
Raman and FTIR spectra of CaFeTi(PO4)3 and CdFeTi(PO4)3 are recorded and analyzed. The observed bands are assigned in terms
of vibrations of TiO6 octahedra and PO4 tetrahedra. The symmetry of TiO6 octrahedra and PO4 tetrahedra is lowered from their free ion
symmetry. The presence of Fe3+ ion disrupts the Ti–O–P–O–Ti chain and leads to the distortion of TiO6 octrahedra and PO4 tetrahedra.
The PO4 3 tetrahedra in both crystals are linearly distorted. The covalency bonding factor of PO4 3 polyanion of both the crystals are
calculated from the Raman spectra and compared to that of other Nasicon-type systems. The numerical values of covalency bonding
factor indicates that there is a reduction in redox energy and cell voltage and is attributed to strong covalency of PO4 3 polyanionin

Abstract:
Raman and infrared spectra of Tl2NbO2PO4, Tl3NaNb4O9(PO4)2 and TlNbOP2O7 are reported. The observed bands are assigned in
terms of vibrations of NbO6 octahedra and PO4 tetrahedra in the first two compounds and in terms of NbO6 octahedra and P2O7
4−
anion in the third compound. The NbO6 octahedra in all the title compounds are found to be corner-shared and distorted. The higher
wavenumber values of the ν1 (NbO6) mode and other stretching modes indicate that the NbO6 octahedra in them are distorted in the order
TlNbOP2O7 > Tl2NbO2PO4 > Tl3NaNb4O9(PO4)2. The splitting of the ν3 (PO4) mode indicates that PO4 tetrahedra is distorted more
in Tl2NbO2PO4 than in Tl3NaNb4O9(PO4)2. The symmetry of P2O7
4− anion in TlNbOP2O7 is lowered. Bands indicate that the P–O–P
bridge in the above compound has a bent P–O–P bridge configuration

Abstract:
Raman spectra of the KTP single crystal are recorded in electric fields (dc and ac) applied along the polar axis c. Spectra with
the laser beam focused near the cathode end, anode end and the centre of the crystal are recorded. The cathode end of the crystal
develops a spot ‘grey track’ where the laser beam is focused after a lapse of 5 h from the application of a dc electric field of
38 V/cm. The spectra recorded at the cathode end after the application of field show variations in intensity of bands. A new band
appears at 177 cm21. Changes in band intensities are explained on the basis of changes in polarizability of the crystal due to the
movement of K1 ions along the polar axis. K1 ions accumulate at the cathode end, where the ‘Grey track’ formation occurs.
The intensity enhancement observed for almost all bands in the ac field is attributed to the improvement of crystalline quality.

Abstract:
In today's complicated computing environment, managing data has become the primary concern
of all industries. Information security is the greatest challenge and it has become essential to secure the
enterprise system resources like the databases and the operating systems from the attacks of the unknown
outsiders. Our approach plays a major role in detecting and managing vulnerabilities in complex
computing systems. It allows enterprises to assess two primary tiers through a single interface as a
vulnerability scanner tool which provides a secure system which is also compatible with the security
compliance of the industry. It provides an overall view of the vulnerabilities in the database, by
automatically scanning them with minimum overhead. It gives a detailed view of the risks involved and
their corresponding ratings. Based on these priorities, an appropriate mitigation process can be
implemented to ensure a secured system. The results show that our approach could effectively optimize
the time and cost involved when compared to the existing systems

Abstract:
Health insurance has become a necessity for the common man,
next to food, clothing and shelter. The financing of health expense is either catastrophic or sometimes even frequently contracted illnesses, is a
major cause of mental agony for the common man. The cost of care may
sometimes result in the complete erosion of the family savings or may
even lead to indebtedness as many studies on causes of rural
indebtedness bear testimony (Jayalakshmi, 2006). A suitable cover by way
of health insurance is all that is required to cope with such situations.
Health care insurance rightly provides the mechanism for both
individuals and families to mitigate the financial burden of medical
expenses in the present context. Hence a well designed affordable health
insurance policy is the need of the hour.Therefore, it is very significant to study the extent to which the
beneficiaries in Kerala make use of the benefits provided by a social health
insurance scheme like RSBY-CHIS. Based on the above pertinent points, this
study assumes national relevance even though the geographical area of the
study is limited to two districts of Kerala. The findings of the study will bring
forth valuable inputs on the services availed by the beneficiaries of RSBYCHIS
and take appropriate measures to improve the effectiveness of the scheme

The fertility of the coastal and estuarine waters is of great concern because of its influence on the
productivity of these waters. Seasonal variations in the distribution of organic carbon, total nitrogen and
total phosphorus in the sediments of Kuttanad Waters, a part of the tropical Cochin Estuary on the south
west coast of India, are examined to identify the contribution of sediments to the fertility of the
aquatic systems. The adjoining region has considerable agricultural activity. The fresh water zones had
higher quantities of silt and clay whereas the estuarine zone was more sandy. Organic carbon, total
phosphorus and total nitrogen were higher in the fresh water zones and lower in the estuarine zones.
Total phosphorus and organic carbon showed the lowest values during monsoon periods. No significant
trends were observed in the seasonal distributions of total nitrogen.
Ratios of C/N, C/P and N/P, and the phosphorus and nitrogen content indicate significant modification
in the character of the organic matter. Substantial amounts of the organic matter can contribute to
reducing conditions and modify diagenetic processes

Abstract:
A novel fixed frequency beam scanning microstrip leaky wave antenna is reported. The beam scanning at fixed frequency is achieved by reactive loading. Simulation and measured results shows frequency scanability of 80° as well as fixed frequency beam steering of 68° over the −10 dB impedance band of 4.56–5.06 GHz.

Abstract:
This study examines the behavioral factors that influence the Indian Investors to invest in the Real Estate Market. Among the various factors that affect the tendency of investors to invest in the real market, certain factors are greatly influenced the investors at greatest extend while others at least level. From this study it is revealed that motivation from the real estate developers and brokers (mean value- 3.46) is most influencing factor and happening of uncertain events (mean value- 1.75) is the least factor that influences the investors’ investment behavior. In this study, the behavioral factor like over confidence and the hypotheses regarding education, religion were analyzed and found that religious factor influences the Indian investors to invest in the real estate

Abstract:
This thesis addresses one of the emerging topics in Sonar Signal Processing.,viz.the implementation of a target classifier for the noise sources in the ocean, as the operator assisted classification turns out to be tedious,laborious and time consuming.In the work reported in this thesis,various judiciously chosen components of the feature vector are used for realizing the newly proposed Hierarchical Target Trimming Model.The performance of the proposed classifier has been compared with the Euclidean distance and Fuzzy K-Nearest Neighbour Model classifiers and is found to have better success rates.The procedures for generating the Target Feature Record or the Feature vector from the spectral,cepstral and bispectral features have also been suggested.The Feature vector ,so generated from the noise data waveform is compared with the feature vectors available in the knowledge base and the most matching pattern is identified,for the purpose of target classification.In an attempt to improve the success rate of the Feature Vector based classifier,the proposed system has been augmented with the HMM based Classifier.Institutions where both the classifier decisions disagree,a contention resolving mechanism built around the DUET algorithm has been suggested.
